Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
1. Overview
This policy describes what information PerpDB (“we”, “us”) collects when you use perpdb.xyz and the PerpDB API (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run accounts, billing, and abuse prevention — and nothing for advertising.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address and authentication state, managed by our sign-in provider, Clerk.
- Billing information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe — we never receive or store full card numbers. We keep subscription state (plan, status, billing period) linked to your account.
- API usage. For metering, billing, and abuse prevention we record request metadata: endpoint, timestamp, response status, request weight, and the API key and account it belongs to.
- Operational logs. Our servers log request metadata (route, status, latency, plan tier) for reliability and security monitoring.
- Site analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel BotID for aggregate page metrics and bot detection. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks.
3. Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in (session/authentication cookies set by Clerk) and to remember interface preferences such as your theme. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
4. On-chain data
The analytics we publish — trades, positions, liquidations, wallet addresses, and related activity — are derived from public blockchains. This is publicly available ledger data, not information collected from our users, and it exists on-chain independently of PerpDB. Nothing in this policy restricts our processing of public blockchain data.
5. How we use information
- to provide and operate the Service, including authentication and API access;
- to meter usage, enforce plan limits, and bill subscriptions;
- to detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
- to fix bugs and understand aggregate usage of the Service;
- to respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
6. Service providers
We share information with the processors that run the Service, only as needed for the purposes above: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (website hosting, analytics, bot protection), DigitalOcean (infrastructure and databases), and Axiom (operational logs). We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the Service and its users.
7. Retention
Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active. Raw API-usage records are kept for a limited period (on the order of 90 days) and then reduced to aggregates for billing history. Operational logs are retained on a short rolling window. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated personal information, except records we must keep for legal, billing, or security reasons.
8. Your rights
You can access and update your email and billing details from your account. You may request a copy or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@perpdb.xyz. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data-protection law; we honor valid requests in line with those laws.
9. Security
Traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit. Authentication uses httpOnly session cookies; API access uses per-account keys you can revoke at any time. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure — if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email.
